Roger Vivier Sandals – Natalie Portman

Roger Vivier is credited with the invention of stilettos, thigh-high boots and the famous silver-buckled square-toed Pilgrim shoe that Catherine Deneuve wore in Belle de Jour. He is described as the “Fragonard of the shoe” and his shoes as “the Faberge of footwear”. Queen Elizabeth II wore a pair of Vivier shoes to her coronation. Other fans include Ava Gardner, Brigitte Bardot, The Beatles, Maria Callas, and Nicole Kidman.

After the death of Roger Vivier in 1998, the brand was aquired by Diego Della Valle – the man behind the Tod’s, Hogan, and Fay brands – in 2000. Now, under the direction of designer Bruno Frisoni and “Ambassadress” Inès de la Fressange the brand has been relaunched successfully.
