This gorgeous heel makes a statement adding precious inches to a woman’s leg, that will definitely make heads turn. A shoe that deserves a special place in the design hall of fame.

Shoebunny has spotted more fantastic Azzedine Alaia shoes and can only recommend to have a look at the entire and ever growing Azzedine Alaia collection. Azzedine Alaia really designs shoes as a perfectionist about cut, drape, and construction.

And here’s the story of the designer, Azzedine Alaia was born in Tunisia in the year 1940. Alaia discovered at early age his passion for art and design and decided to go all the way to live his creativity. He even lied about his age to get into the local Ecole des Beaux-Arts to study sculpture. One day he noticed an advertisement for a vacancy at a dressmaker’s and that’s where he started making copies of couture dresses for neighbors. After this experience he went to Paris to work for Christian Dior where he stayed about five years. He moved to Guy Laroche, where he learned for two seasons his craft. In 1960, the “Blegiers” family noticed Alaia and kept him for the next five years as the dressmaker to the Countess and her friends. It was at that time that Alaia came in touch with the glamorous high society of Paris, where he gathered his first clientèle, following him when he started out on his own becoming successful worldwide. In 2000, Alaia joined forces with the Prada group. Today Alaïa lives in Paris, where he still designs fantastic shoes and fashion creations.

Fashion Designer Azzedine Alaia is born in Tunesia and made his way over Paris to New York. Key ideas of his creations are purity of form and structure. He likes to design little black leather dresses, uses zippers as accessoriy and of course designs such warrior sandals like Nicole Richie is often wearing. And he designs for women who like to emphazise their bodies: „A woman’s not going to buy a little skirt for a lot of money if it’s not for seduction. What else are clothes made for?”

And gladiator sandals are seductive, even though they look quite rough and simple. Warrior Goddesses wear gladiator sandals, remember Cleopatra or the french Joan of Arc. Once again Jessica Simpson is wearing Azzedine Alaia wedge sandals.
A few weeks ago Shoebunny showed Jessica Simpson in just the same Azzedine Alaia wedge sandals.

Jessica really loves her sandals, because she wears them with different dresses and for different occasions.
This gives us the possibility to see one sandal with different outfits.

A few weeks ago Jessica combined the Azzedine Alaia sandals with a typical black tunisian dress, just like the designer coming from Tunis would have liked it. She looked very stylish and her blond hair just matches perfectly with the dress.
On our today’s picture we see Jessica Simpson in a flower overall, more hip than classical, but not too hip for the wedge sandals, they bring just the perfect finish to this combination. The picture of Jessica was taken in New York, where she surely went for some shopping. So we can conclude that these wedge sandals are really comfortable and the right shoe for long days.

Alaia is a fashion designer from Tunis. He worked with Christian Dior, then joined Guy Laroche, followed by Thierry Mugler until the late 50’s. He finally started a business on his own and opened a boutique in Beverley Hills in 1983. The Alaia label spreads all over the world, notably Neiman Marcus in San Francisco, the Les Createurs boutique in Geneva and Browns and Joseph in London.

Alaia’s customers include celebrities as Madonna, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Kim Basinger and Paloma Picasso as well as many movie stars and super models.
