Beatrix Ong’s “Princess” shoes are currently exhibited at the Shipley Art Gallery’s “Shoes: The Agony and the Ecstasy”, a touring exhibition under the Tyne & Wear Museums.
Here Beatrix Ong’s shoe is displayed in the Designer’s Section along with works of other great shoe designers such as Manolo Blahnik, Vivienne Westwood, and Jimmy Choo.

Jade Jagger is a model, a great designer, and a mother. Jade is to design interior concepts and furniture for a property design and development company, called YOO, witch she recently joined.

Shoebunny’s dear reader Eileen spotted Dita Von Teese in red satin Beatrix Ong slides.

This style is called “Jolee” and is from the Autumn/Winter 2005 collection. The “Jolee” slide features a large velvet bow on top of foot, leather lining, satin and velvet uppers and a 70mm heel. The slides are available in black satin/velvet, red satin/velvet, and blue satin/velvet.

After designing for Jimmy Choo, Beatrix Ong went on to start her own shoe business. Her passion is to create shoes that are comfortable enough for women to wear during the day, yet glamorous and special enough for the evening: “I design very selfishly. I make shoes that I want to wear, and practicality and comfort are as important as looks. My shoes are designed to be worn all day and into the night; whatever the occasion. My shoes are eclectic but sculptural. I imagine them being worn b a modern-day Cinderella.”

In September 2002 her first shoe collection launched at the London Fashion Week. And one year later the Independent Newspaper named Ong as one of the 10 Leading Shoe Designers amongst Manolo Blahnik. Beatrix Ong has also been called “the new Choo”. Shoebunny is sure that we all will hear more from Beatrix in the future.

Beatrix Ong “The new Choo”

Sienna loves the the luxury shoe brand from London. With her fantastic shoe and bag collection Beatrix Ong continues to grow as a leading British yet international luxury brand. Beatrix Ong used to design for Jimmy Choo, but had always wanted to design her own shoe-label. She presented her very fist collection in 2002 and immediately caught the imagination of international press and buyers. In 2003, the Independent Newspaper named Beatrix Ong as on of the 10 Leading Shoe Designers and in 2004 the front cover of “Shoo magazine” declared that Beatrix Ong is “The New Choo”.

A lot of celebs loved her designs and creations, under them are fashion queens like Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and Sadie Frost. And we will surely here more about “The New Choo”.
