Shoebunny spotted Christy Turlington in Christian Louboutin sandals.
Have you ever wondered on the origins of the signature red sole of Louboutin shoes? Here’s the answer from the Maestro:
“I did not really choose the red sole. It’s more like the red sole came to me and had to stay with me. It started as a happy accident, which I kept. I was very inspired by pop art so all my drawings were really full of colors. So the first prototype arrives. It’s very very very very similar to my designs so I was very happy. But something was missing. Thank God I had this girl with me who was painting her nails. Grabbed her nailpolish… thank you to Chanel for that! (laughs)… I grabbed the nailpolish and I painted the sole. I started immediately in my shop to have the red sole the same season.”
Some more quotes from Louboutin:
“A woman carries her clothes, but it’s a shoe which carries a woman.”
“A good shoe is like a face.”

Shoebunny spotted Christy Turlington in gladiator sandals from Balenciaga.
Christy is wearing the same style as Courteney Cox in yesterday’s posting. While gladiator sandals are most often spotted far away from the red carpet these Balenciaga sandals demonstrate that gladiator sandals are not only a timeless classic for every season but can also be worn at any occasion. Gladiator sandals have clearly come a long way from the ancient Greece and Rome.
Christy’s Balenciaga gladiator sandals feature smooth leather upper, open toe, wide leather strip which runs from toe to ankle, four leather straps woven through strip at vamp, two buckle adjustable ankle straps woven through strip, a 4” leather wedge heel, leather insole and leather sole.
