These lavish dress sandals from Roger Vivier are unique and very elegant. Made of black satin and designed in a very simple and clear manner, they underline the form of a woman’s foot. Shoebunny’s back from a gorgeous trip to Paris, a city full of gorgeous designer shoe shops. The Roger Vivier store in Paris is located at 29, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris, France. The spring summer collection 2006 is presented on two floors. The show rooms are white with high ceilings full of stucco and old wooden parquet floor. A wonderful store with very friendly staff. The shoes are presented on narrow but high shelves, each shoe has it’s own little spotts and therefore comes to shine in all splendor.

Shoebunny took a close look to this wonderful shoe collection 2006 and found the tongue sandal Sienna is wearing in this post and which have been spotted on Sienna by Shoebunny some weeks ago. Roger Vivier is credited with the invention of stilettos, thigh-high boots and the famous silver-buckled square-toed Pilgrim shoe that Catherine Deneuve wore in Belle de Jour. He is described as the “Fragonard of the shoe” and his shoes as “the Faberge of footwear”. Queen Elizabeth II wore a pair of Vivier shoes to her coronation. Other fans include Ava Gardner, Brigitte Bardot, The Beatles, Maria Callas, and Nicole Kidman.

After the death of Roger Vivier in 1998, the brand was aquired by Diego Della Valle - the man behind the Tod’s, Hogan, and Fay brands - in 2000. Now, under the direction of designer Bruno Frisoni and “Ambassadress” Inès de la Fressange the brand has been relaunched successfully.
